I was overwhelmed by so many options out there and yet the options out there are so disappointing. I've dealt with Australian agencies and web developers in the past, and they make things even harder, and when they hand you back the website they don't hand you the keys, but when you want to move away from their services/agency, they take the foundation and house your website is built on, but give you the keys finally - but you now own the keys to the house they removed.... Which is your website. For them they want you locked into their agency so you keep paying them and if you walk away they make it hard.

Really. Mal's site was done the next morning. The build is a system I've done before, with serious automation behind it, not a blank page. What takes the time is on your side: sending me your photos, services and phone number, and getting me access to the domain. Do that on Monday and you're live by the weekend at the latest. I take on 3 builds a month, so the start date depends on the queue, which is one more reason the free audit is the right first step.
Why $2,500 when agencies quote $10,000?
Because the price you pay an agency mostly covers the agency: staff, offices, account managers. I own the hosting, build with heavy automation behind me, and do the work myself. Same scope, a fraction of the cost to produce. It's not a cheaper site. It's the same site without the overhead.
Can I just pay now and skip the audit?
